OUTDOOR NATURE-BASED Programs for multi-generational and multi-lingual communities
"Mycelium Cooperative" is a metaphor of the growth and changes involved in creating Regenerative Learning Ecologies. The "roots" of a mushroom, grows through different stages: spore germination, hyphal growth, and mycelial colonization, eventually leading to the formation of a fruiting body (the mushroom we see). These stages involve the mycelium absorbing nutrients and spreading to interact with a new substrate.
I am a co-founding member of the Colorado Collective for Nature Based Early Education and a former co-founding teacher owner of Nature School Cooperative. Mycellium Cooperative is a new "fruiting body" of collaboration with individuals communities working to create teacher owned and teacher run "schools" that are nature based and rooted in the vision to create regenerative futures and triple well being.
The Grassland Garden School is only one fruiting body of many collaborative partnerships that are still emerging, and will include an outdoor nature-based preschool component, but will also include programming for multi-generational and multilingual family systems. These mycellium connections are note visible yet but will be working towards the vision of a multi-generational living community from age 0 to 99+ who knows what we may be able to create together. On a small short term scale, it will certainly involve being a site placement for social work interns,
